Christ in Four Dimensions
The synoptic gospels portray Christ in various aspects:
- Matthew reveals Christ as the King of kings and Lord of lords
- Mark reveals Him as the toiling servant
- Luke gives a glimpse of Christ as the Son of man
- John shows Christ in soaring vision
The camp of Israel and the banners of each tribe also represented Christ.
- Judah displayed a lion
- Ephriam displayed an ox
- Reuben displayed the face of a man
- Dan displayed an eagle
The prophet Ezekiel portrays Christ in a similar fashion (see chapter 1).
In Revelation 4:7 John again describes these four characteristics.
